Documents and Visa Types

Please prepare the documents below carefully
Read the list of documents which need to be submitted with your visa application based on your travel purpose and prepare the documents carefully. Please always choose the correct travel purpose.
Important Reminder:
- Please note: not all travel documents are recognized by the Netherlands. If you apply for a visa with such a non-recognized travel document, your visa application can be declared inadmissible. More detailed information is available on the European Union website.
- All documents are required to be copied/printed in A4 format. If more than one sheet are included in one single category of document, please print them out in double-sized format (such as bank statements).
- If any original documents that are not in single-sided A4 size, a single-sided copy in A4 size must be submitted together.
- Please make sure all photocopies are clear and complete; Please do NOT highlight or mark remarks on the documents.
- Please do NOT staple any documents.
- Holding a Travel Medical Insurance (TMI) is a requirement to apply for a Schengen visa. The Travel Medical Insurance (TMI) has to cover any expenses that may arise in relation to repatriation for medical reasons and/or emergency treatment during the visa holder's stay. Expenses made as a result of pandemic situations (including Covid-19) are suggested to be included in the coverage.

Personal appearance and representation
All applicants must appear in person, unless they are exempt from biometric data collection.
If you are exempt, a representative may submit your application on your behalf. The representative must provide:
- A signed authorisation letter
- The original and a copy of their ID
The representative must be 18 years or older.
Important
For Dutch Caribbean visa applications, fingerprints are not required. However, applicants must still attend in person to have their photo taken.
