Application Procedure

How to submit your Dutch visa application

Please follow these steps in order to apply for a Schengen visa or Caribbean visa. Netherlands must be your main travel destination.

Step 1: Start your application on the official Netherlands Consular Services website

Create an account on the Consular Services website of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and complete the online visa application form. TLScontact cannot process your application until this step is completed.

Step 2: Prepare your supporting documents

Check the Documents and Visa Types section to find the list of required documents for your visa application, based on your specific travel purpose.  

Please note that travel insurance, fully compliant with Schengen requirements, is mandatory for your visa application.

Step 3: Create your TLScontact account and enter your details

Create your TLScontact account, activate it via the email link, and enter your personal data, including all group members if applicable. You will need to input the unique number from your Netherlands online application form.

Step 4: Book your appointment

Select a convenient date and time to submit your application at our visa application centre. Make sure to bring your appointment confirmation, as it will be required at check-in. If you are part of a group of more than five applicants, please contact our customer service team to schedule your appointment, after completing your online registration. 

Appointment availability may be limited; check regularly for new slots.

Step 5: Submit your application

Please arrive on time, with your appointment confirmation. If you are late, you will need to book a new appointment.  Personal appearance is mandatory unless you are exempted from biometric enrolment. If you are exempt from biometric data collection and you choose to be represented, your representative for the filing must be of legal age, and must provide a signed authorisation letter, and the original and copy of their identification document exactly as stated in the authorisation letter.

TLScontact will: – Verify your documents – Capture your biometric data – Collect visa and service fees – Forward your digital documents and passport to the Netherlands Diplomatic Mission.  

Your application will be reviewed by the Netherlands Diplomatic Mission. TLScontact does not make visa decisions. 

Document tips: Use A4 size, remove clips or pins, ensure documents are clean and legible, and arrange them according to the checklist order.

Step 6: Collect your passport

Once a decision has been made on your application, you will be notified by email and SMS. 

You can: 

Collect your passport in person:

- Please bring your application checklist, plus your photographic ID (original and copy)

Collect your passport through a representative:

- They must bring the original authorisation letter and photographic ID.  

Receive your passport at the address of your choice, if you have selected our Express Courier Return service.
